Lamborghini Veneno: Birdman Knows His Specs

UPDATE April 16 12:05 p.m.: Drew Milford, from Lamborghini's marketing firm Centigrade, wrote us to let us know "the price of the Veneno is 3 million Euro -- also, we can confirm, as in contact with the agents who sold the three Venenos on behalf of Lamborghini, that Birdman is not one of the people who purchased the vehicle from Lamborghini."

The Lamborghini Veneno is a big, ugly mess, but that isn't stopping hip-hop superstar Birdman from dropping a mind-blowing $4.6 million ($3.9 million by some reports) on the sports car. The Lamborghini Veneno, which celebrates the brand's 50th anniversary, was unveiled last month at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.

While the Lamborghini Veneno specs wise is certainly one of the most, if not the most impressive supercars of the year, it isn't exactly a sight for sore eyes, unless you're Birdman, apparently.

The Lamborghini Veneno's backside rather oddly evokes the original Batmobile, while the front seems to take a page out of the Acura NSX playbook. Maybe that's your thing, but if so, Edmunds has some terse words for your vehicle of choice. Listen up Birdman:

"Every supercar cliché and every bad idea Lamborghini ever had, stuffed into one overpriced showcar. It's the worst thing out of Italy since fascism. Mercifully, only three will be made, which is still three too many."

Wow. The Lamborghini Veneno is worse than Mussolini. Still, like we said earlier, the Veneno boasts some impressive specs. Although the rumors of a front-engined GT did not pan out, the Lamborghini Veneno is still a beast: its 6.5-liter V-12 engine produces 750 horsepower and takes you from zero to 60 in 2.8 seconds. The car has a top speed of 221 mph and its engine is paired to an ISR manual gearbox. Additionally, the Lamborghini Veneno is permanently set to all-wheel drive.

The Veneno is about 275 pounds lighter than the Lamborghini Aventador, the carmaker's flagship model, which debuted in 2011 and replaced the Murciélago. Each of the three Lamborghini Veneno models will be a different color: one each in green, white and red - representing the Italian flag. It's unknown what color Birdman sprang for.
