If you have multiple email accounts on your iOS device, you know it can be a pain to go through and tap each individual email message as "read." If you want to speed things up and mark all of your current unread emails as read, you can now do it in seconds. It's believed this was never a feature Apple ever officially implemented, but it works amazingly well.
Here's how you can mark all emails as read in the Mail app, with a neat trick Apple forgot to tell us about:
1. Open up Mail on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch and tap "Edit" (in upper right of screen).
2. You'll need to highlight an email by tapping the circle and the familiar red checkbox will appear.
3. Now tap and hold "Mark."
4. While still holding down the "Mark" button, you'll need to unselect the email you just highlighted by tapping it again to clear the checkbox.
5. Now you'll need to let go of the "Mark" button, and you'll now see a pop-up message with "Flag" and "Mark as Read" appear. Once you tap "Mark as Read" all of your emails will be marked as read without having to tap each individual box.
This is a very useful and time-saving trick if you use multiple email accounts on your iOS devices. Special thanks to iPhoneinCanada for providing the instructions.
