Samsung is rumored to be readying a new high-end tablet to launch in the next few weeks. The tablet is reportedly going by the codename "Roma" and will have more impressive specs than the rumored Galaxy Tab 3 that was just recently leaked.
According to a new report, the "Roma" will be very similar to the Samsung-built Nexus 10 tablet. The source describes the tablet as "essentially the Nexus 10 in two new versions with 3G or 4G LTE." The tablet is expected to be thinner and lighter than the Nexus 10; the tablet is also expected to feature a microSD slot that will accept up to 128GB cards. This feature would allow Samsung's tablet to be on par with Apple's 128GB iPad through expandable memory.
The "Roma" is expected to feature a 10.1-inch 2560 x 1600 HD display, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, Samsung Exynos 5 1.7GHz dual-core processor, Mali-T604 GPU, 16GB of internal storage, 2GB of RAM, 5-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera, 3G HSPA or 4G LTE radio, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/ac/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, DLNA, microSD slot with support for up to 128GB cards, 9,000 mAh battery, dimensions of 257 × 177.7 × 8.4 mm, and weigh 583g.
It's not clear when Samsung will officially unveil this tablet, but if the rumor is true, we should be hearing something from Samsung pretty soon. As with all rumors, take this with a huge grain of salt.
