Most Desired ‘Final Fantasy' Females Revealed

The Final Fantasy universe contains a variety of charming women with boisterous personalities that fans adore. After learning the results of a recent popularity poll, these five bewitching beauties stand out among the other girls as the ultimate 'waifus.'

Top Five Best Final Fantasy Females

According to COGconnected (press release), a student-oriented website in Japan, recently held a poll to determine which girl in the FF universe is the best one. Out of 200 participants, 17 chose Lighting from FFXIII which basically makes her the ultimate 'waifu' material. Apparently, the character is extremely popular due to her tsundere tendencies and 'dignified personality.'

Coming in at second place is the summoner and singer, Yuna, from FFX because of her 'cute' looks. Following this is FFVII's beautiful barmaid, Tifa, whose appearance has always won over fans and students also believe that she would make a great travel partner. Serah Farron then took the fourth spot while Vanille came in at fifth place.

The Major Impact of Leading Ladies in the Series

It is evident that FFXIII is highly popular for their alluring ladies as three of them took the top fives favorite slots. However, each fan still has their own preference regarding their favorite FF heroine that might not have made it on the list. The inclusion of female characters in the series is always welcome and it even has a large impact towards the installments in the franchise.

Similarly, one major issue in FFXV was that the game's cast lacked any playable women, as per Game Rant. Furthermore, other female leads like Lunafreya Fleuret, Iris Amicitia and Aranea Highwind got very little screen time throughout the entire game. Even so, this issue is an abnormality for the franchise as other games like FFVI, FFXII and FFIV all have their fair share of versatile leading ladies.

The poll itself was extremely limited as it was only targetted towards a certain audience with few numbers. It would be quite interesting to see the difference in results if the poll was aimed towards a broader and diverse audience. Until then, Lighting claims her throne as the queen of Final Fantasy waifus.
