Assassin's Creed VR Title Might Not Be Launched Officially

Last year, Ubisoft announced that they won't release a new Assassin's Creed title and will resume all activities from the popular franchise this year. Though the details regarding the upcoming Assassin's Creed title are not yet announced, it seems like Ubisoft has developed something for the world of Virtual Reality.

According to the report from Game Rant, the publisher/developer has created a new VR title for Assassin's Creed. This might not be the typical Assassin's Creed game that fans are hoping for but Ubisoft made it decent by creating a co-op escape room inside Leonardo Da Vinci's workshop.

Based on the report from VG247, this game made possible by the partnership of Ubisoft and students at NHTV in the Netherlands. The new VR Assassin's Creed title was developed as an experiment to the latest VR technology and there are no plans of releasing the project officially as a standalone game.

The gameplay for the game was seen on the lead developer's website. It has been stated that players were to solve lots of puzzles inside Leonardo Da Vinci's workshop. Solving these puzzles will lead them to the piece of Eden. Aside from the ones posted on the site, there are no further details regarding the game as of now.

Meanwhile, the Assassin's Creed VR title is being developed for HTC Vive on the Unreal Engine 4 and Oculus Rift VR headsets. However, players are advised to wait for further announcements in order to learn more regarding the game.

On other news, the next main Assassin's Creed game is expected to arrive in Nintendo Switch. Meanwhile, the movie gave a glimpse on a new Animus, which is expected to appear in the future games of the franchise. Overall, fans are hoping that Ubisoft could pull off an interesting Assassin's Creed game title since there are lots of disappointments on their past entries. As of now, Assassin's Creed: Da Vinci's Workshop has no plans for a commercial release.
