"American Horror Story" has been a household name ever since it was released. Ryan Murphy, the brain behind the hit series, received good feedbacks and great praises for the show. However, there has been a popular fan theory that continues to spread online like a wildfire. The theory cited that the show is just a representation of "Dante's Inferno." With Murphy loving all the said speculation, there is still no confirmation if he would be incorporating it in the show's mythology.
'American Horror Story' And 'Dante's Inferno' Correlation With Each Other Revealed; Murphy Reacts
According to Movie News Guide, the popular fan theory states that every season of "American Horror Story" is a mere representation of Dante's Alighieri's famous poem. Sources revealed that each installment could be the nine circles of hell. Fans then concluded that its Season 1 is concentrating on lust while the other season tackles fraud and gluttony.
The hit series currently has six seasons and continue to earn a rapid amount of viewership rating. With this, the network confirmed that it would be having another two seasons. Many were quick to conclude that it is aligned with "Dante's Inferno." However, Murphy seems to be denying all the said theories but admitted that all are great ideas.
In an interview, the screenwriter stated, "With American Horror Story I do like Dante's inferno theory." He also added, "I have a theory about the show that I've never told anybody and probably won't until it's over, but that theory is a good one. I always learn a lot about my theory based on other people's theories which are really all I can say."
'American Horror Story' Season 7: Show To Do Crossovers?
On the other hand, it was revealed that the show could dwell in a horror universe. Murphy and FX are also on the verge of deciding if the show would have a crossover season. This might make other characters return in the show and Sarah Paulson displaying 18 characters.
