Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, star of the new movie Pain & Gain mentioned some of his upcoming movies during a question and answer session on Twitter with fans. Johnson will be seen in two more movies later this year including Fast & Furious 6, opposite Vin Diesel and Empire State which also stars Liam Hemsworth. Earlier this year, Johnson was on the big screen in the movies Snitch and G.I. Joe: Retaliation.
Pain and Gain hit theaters April 26 and that same day, Johnson gave fans a chance to ask him few questions on Twitter during a Q&A under with the hashtag #RockTalk. Johnson worked with director Michael Bay on the action packed Pain & Gain movie and fans learned that Bay also offered him a role in Transformers 4. Johnson said he was unable to accept the role due to other movie obligations.
"Michael Bay offered me Transformers, but I was unavailable due to Hercules. Then Wahlberg was offered the role," Johnson tweeted. Hercules is expected to make its way to theaters in 2014. Johnson has already also signed on to the movie Fast & Furious 7, also coming to theaters in 2014.
Johnson returned from semi-retirement to the WWE as "The Rock" this year but his match at Wrestlemania 29 with John Cena on April 7 may have been his last for WWE.
"Three years ago I sat with Vince McMahon; we strategized about it and talked about three Wrestlemanias back to back. Was it my last match? Possibly. The plan was to create the biggest show of all time and the biggest market of all time in New York," Johnson said during an interview with NY radio personality, Peter Rosenberg.
Johnson reaffirmed his possible retirement from the ring during his #RockTalk session on Twitter. "Mania may have been my last match. The 3 year goal was to come in & elevate the @WWE. Then proudly 'do the honors,'" the Pain & Gain star tweeted about stepping back into the ring as "The Rock". Johnson lost his WWE champion belt to John Cena during the Wrestlemania 29 title match and suffered injuries to his midsection during the battle.
"In the middle of last night's Wrestlemania match I tore my abdomen & abductor muscles off the bone. Just part of the job. But as we know...It's all about #JustBringIt. WWE Universe, THANK YOU for all the love & well wishes. Means everything to me. #LeaveItAllInTheRing," tweeted Johnson on April 8.
Two weeks after the match, Johnson, 40, underwent an emergency hernia operation as a result of injuries from the clash with Cena. He was forced to miss the Hollywood premiere of Pain & Gain due to the injury. "Surgery a success! Dr repaired 3 hernial tears (fun pain). Superman is on the mend," tweeted Johnson after the operation on April 23. Johnson may reconsider getting back into the ring again but he has had a great career with the WWE as "The Rock" aka "The Peoples' Champion." This summer, the people can also catch Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson on the small screen in his very own TV Reality show series, The Hero.
