Thursday's episode of "Scandal" shows Cyrus Beene getting the inmate treatment after he and Tom Larsen have been arrested for assassinating the president, Frankie Vargas. Cyrus is angry at Tom, blaming him for his incarceration, telling the guards: "He's the reason I'm in here. Him and his lies."
Abby Is Convinced That Tom And Cyrus Killed Frankie
According to Entertainment Weekly, Cyrus is having a horrible time in jail. Season 6 episode 4 titled "The Belt," shows both Tom and Cyrus in prison. Cyrus maintains his innocence, and everybody in the White House agrees with him - except Abby. Abby thinks Tom and Cyrus are responsible for Frankie's death. Fitz orders the death penalty on his former right hand man.
A.V Club said that this plot seems to be a distraction from the fact that viewers still don't know precisely who the next president will be. The episode shows Mellie spending her time dancing and drinking, while Jake is presumably getting ready to be the next vice president. It is up to Olivia and the gladiators to solve the puzzle.
The Gladiators Found That Tom Was Not In Town At The Time Of Frankie's Death
Meanwhile, Cyrus planned to have Tom killed, but while the latter was beaten up, he yelled "I'm innocent." Cyrus then realized that Tom didn't kill Frankie, and during the same time, the Gladiators at the OPA found evidence to prove that Tom was not even in town when Frankie was murdered. It turned out that Tom was actually in Atlanta at the time of the killing.
And so it becomes clear, no one really still knows who killed Frankie. Did Papa Joe do it? But could Tom be lying, and is he really responsible for Frankie's death? Jeff Perry who plays Cyrus in "Scandal" said: "What I've learned about our writers is that they're professional surprisers."
