Waste management authorities had been baffled at the remains of a body discovered at a facility in 5510 block of NW 4th Street in Oklahoma City. The body remains was found on February 7 and the Oklahoma City Police had launched an investigation to identify the body. Now the Oklahoma County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the body to be that of 56-year-old Tracy Rey Mullins.
Police is not treating this as a homicide investigation
The police had been preoccupied at identifying the body and ruled out a homicide investigation. They had also wanted to know how the body remains ended up at the Oklahoma City waste management facility. Trucks collecting trash in the city empty their collections at the center and these are shredded, compacted and baled.
Waste management workers could easily not tell how the body ended up at the facility. However investigations by Master Sergeant Gary Knight revealed that a trash truck emptied the body at the site without really knowing it, NewsOK reported. Workers at the facility were shocked at the discovery but it is not known whether a statement will be released to shed more light on what could have transpired.
Cause and manner of death have not been released by the medical examiner
It appears this is the first time such an incident would be reported at the Oklahoma City Waste Management facility. The unidentified driver of the truck that discharged the body is also at a loss as to how the body should have been in his truck. Police are however continuing in their investigations and they have promised to carry the public along.
Waste management executives and employees at the facility are glad that the body remains have been identified. The office of the medical examiner has however not released any information yet as to the cause and manner of Rey Mullins death, News9 revealed. When this will be done is not clear but the public is also eager to know about the deceased's family and other personal information.
