'Dance Moms' Coach Abby Lee Miller Still A Free Woman; Season 8 Might Arrive After She Serves Jail Time?

"Dance Moms" coach, Abby Lee Miller, continues to be a free woman, as she has once again been given another reprieve for her pending court cases. Following this, many are speculating that Abby can finish filming for "Dance Moms" season 7B, but Lifetime might delay season 8 until the coach serves her time in jail.

Abby is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 24 for her sentencing, but Judge Joy Flowers Conti has announced the delay of the hearing yesterday. "The sentencing scheduled for 2/24/2017 is canceled," says Conti. "The sentencing will be rescheduled by further order of the court," she added but has not given a temporary date.

This should not be taken as an indication though that Abby is already free of imprisonment. The delay has reportedly been requested by the government as the U.S. attorney prosecuting Abby's case asked for the hearing to be done at a later date. The hearing though might happen soon as the prosecutor asked for the sentencing to push through on the "earliest available date" of the court.

Abby's legal team then took the offer. Reports reveal that Robert Ridge and Brandon Verdream, who serves as Abby's representatives, intend to appeal for probation and fine instead of jail time as she is only a first-time offender.

The ALDC coach has been indicted last year on 20 counts of fraud and later was found violating the currency laws. It is expected that she will serve at least two and a half years in jail and pay an amount of fines and fees. During the January 20 hearing, the judge dismissed her claim that her "Dance Moms" money was only a result of the fast rise to fame. She has allegedly hidden over $755,000 of earnings from her Lifetime show while she declared bankruptcy. This was later figured out by Judge Thomas Agresti when he came across the show, hence the charges against her.

With a possible imprisonment on the way, Abby might have to rest from her Lifetime show for years, starting from "Dance Moms" season 8. There were reports saying that the filming for the show's season 7B has already started earlier this year, hence fans might still see the dance coach finish the current season. Meanwhile, there are rumors surfacing that Lifetime might put "Dance Moms" on a long hiatus before season 8 as Abby's foreseeable return after her jail time will be an interesting plot for the reality series.
