'Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice' Big Winner At Razzie Awards

“Batman Versus Superman: Dawn of Justice” was the biggest winner in this year’s Razzie Awards, garnering four major awards. The film, directed by Zack Snyder, topbills Ben Affleck as the caped crusader Batman opposite Henry Cavil who plays Superman, prevailed over other entries in the annual satirical awards night held one day before the Oscars.

Batman Versus Superman: Dawn of Justice Bags Major Razzie Awards

The blockbuster two-hour movie has grossed more than $ 330 million in domestic sales alone. However, the movie seems to have failed in capturing the admiration of the men and women behind the Raxxie awards.

Affleck and Cavill’s tandem earned them the “Worst Onscreen Combo.” On the other hand, Jesse Eisenberg’s rendition of the iconic villain Lex Luthor won him a “Worst Supporting Actor” Razzie. Furthermore, the film also won as “Worst Remake, Ripoff or Sequel,” and completed its line up of awards with “Worst Screenplay.”

The movie is a continuation of the DC cinematic universe following 2013’s Man of Steel.

Ben Affleck’s Razzie Win: The End for Batman?

Above all, Affleck was awarded as the “Worst Actor of the Year.” However, his “victory” in the awards night caused speculations among movie critics and the press that this might cause him to drop from the Batman sequel altogether.

This is not the first time that comic movies dominated the Razzies. Last year, Fantastic Four won as the “Worst Picture.” The third Divergent film and Assassin’s Creed is also set to rake in some Razzie awards.

Superman To Resurrect On Justice League?

If you have seen the movie, you know that Superman sacrificed himself to save mankind in the heart of doomsday. However, if you think that this is the end of the Man of Steel, think again. Rumors mills abound that Superman will return in the movie’s next installment, “Justice League.”
