‘The Big Bang Theory' Cast Takes Pay Cuts For Melissa Rauch, Mayim Bialik So They'll Stay

It has just been reported that the main cast of the popular comedy series, “The Big Bang Theory” are going to take pay cuts for their co-stars Melissa Rauch and Mayim Bialik. The news got out while the cast and the series as a whole are in the middle of closing the deal on the show’s renewal. It has been reported that the pay cuts will help in the negotiations to move forward.

“The Big Bang Theory” Cast Helps Out

Kaley Cuoco, Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Simon Helberg, and Kunal Nayyar have reportedly decided to lessen their pay for the show. All five of them are earning around $1 million per episode. They have made the gesture of cutting off $100,000 per episode from their own payments in the next two seasons.

The pay cuts will then head on to Melissa Rauch and Mayim Bialik who are both earning at least $200,000 per episode. They will be splitting the $500,000 and add it to their current earnings. This was decided by the cast while Rauch and Bialik are still in the process of negotiating new contracts with the show.

“The Big Bang Theory” Renewal Is Still In Negotiations

The two actresses play the roles of Amy Farrah, who is Sheldon’s girlfriend, and Bernadette Rostenkowski, who is the wife of Wolowitz. Their characters were introduced in Season 3 and later on, they became mainstays. The story of the series has already built up including them and clearly, their roles are as crucial as the original bunch’s especially to the making of possible new installments.

Though CBS has yet to greenlight the new seasons, the production is hoping that the show will be renewed for Seasons 11 and 12. CBS chief, Glenn Geller said that they will put the show on for as long as everyone wants “The Big Bang Theory” on air and he hopes it lasts forever. The production is quite optimistic about the renewal and executive producer Steve Molaro even said that he didn’t see the show’s Season 10 as the last one.
