Galaxy S8 And S8+ Launch Date

According to an article, the Galaxy S8 and S8+ will be launched on March 29. Apparently, Samsung is also reported to not prioritize the South Korean market only, as it will also launch the handset globally across other markets at the same time as well. This is because the company is already behind schedule due to the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco last year.

In fact, Samsung had to do a number of battery tests for all lithium ion batteries in Samsung products that started last January in order to make sure that there won't be a Galaxy Note 7 fiasco repeat. The tests include durability testing, visual inspection, X-rays, charge and discharge tests, test volatile organic compounds, disassembling tests, accelerated usage tests, and open circuit voltage tests.

In an article at BGR, the pre-orders for the Galaxy S8 and S8+ will open on April 10, approximately 12 days after March 29. It was also mentioned that the Galaxy S8 and S8+ will be available in stores sometime in mid to late April.

Furthermore, it is expected that by March, around 4.7 million units will be made, then another 7.8 million units in April which total to 12.5 million units of production for the initial months. There was no mention as to what is the specific or estimated ratio of production between the Galaxy S8 and S8+.
