There are 26 endings in NieR: Automata. The five endings in the game are the real ones while the remaining 21 are just for fun. However, the players must know that the ending they will get depends entirely on how they play the game.
The 21 'Joke' Endings In NieR: Automata
Since there are different endings in the game the players wish to see, they must fail several missions to lead them in the 21 alternative endings. To go to Ending F, they must run out of time when 9S is restoring his OS. Ending G is for not finishing when learning 9S for the first time.
Ending H in NieR: Automata will happen when players run from Goliath when he reappears for the second time. Ending I is when they leave 9S after killing the boss in the Copied City. When players kill the religious machines in Abandoned Factory during their first meet will lead them to Ending J, according to RPG Site.
If they have eaten the mackerel given by Jackass, they will experience Ending K. Not finishing the battle in either Route A or Route B will bring them to Ending L. Choosing not to help Pascal's Village at the end of Route C will lead to Ending M while killing every machine in the village, will give them Ending N.
Ending O is for leaving the battlefield area at Route C. If they are infected with logic virus at Route C, they will experience Ending P. When they are controlling 9S and abandoned 2B at Route C, it will lead them to Ending Q. Attacking the workers in the Abandoned Factory will bring them to Ending R.
Leaving Devola and Popola in the Tower Sequence is for Ending S. Getting the OS-chip will lead them to Ending T. If the players will self-destruct inside the bunker, they will experience Ending U. When the NPCs die and they do not hack into the Tower, will lead to Ending V.
Dying during the intro level at Route A will bring them to Ending W. When they abandon 2B using A2 will lead them to Ending X. Ending Y will only happen when players fight the secret boss and letting it self-destruct. Lastly, Ending Z is about killing Pascal using A2.
Five Real Endings In NieR: Automata
Players will have a chance to see Ending A if they have completed NieR: Automata for the first time at Route A. Ending B is for beating the game again after reloading the saved file but at Route B. Ending C will occur if they have reloaded the saved file about Ending A and B at Route C but they must choose A2 in the final battle.
Ending D has the same flow of the game with Ending C but players must choose 9S in the final battle in NieR: Automata. For Ending E, they must watch Ending D again after they have seen Ending C and D at Route C and accept Pod 042's request.
As per Techno Buffalo, it is a must that players must finish NieR: Automata because they will not fully grasp the game unless they have tried beating it even after the second time. They will only fall in love with one of the popular RPGs today if they have reached the ending.
