Scarlett Johansson stars in the new sci-fi “Ghost in the Shell” movie, riding Honda's futuristic motorcycle against a dark dystopian backdrop. It gets cooler as the movie, based on a Japanese manga and anime, set in a future city landscape, will be treating the audience to some advanced technologies and vehicles including the one built by Honda. The sweet ride is based on the current Honda NM4, designed with the words “neo-futuristic” and “cool" in mind.
The frame is made from carbon fiber and accented with LEDs including the Honda logo. The automaker says the bike makes several appearances in the movie as a svelty ScarJo can be seen revving it while beating up bad guys. A lot of fanfare has been created by the movie as cool technology and complex story drives it.
Lead character Motoko Kusanagi, played by Scarlett Johansson, is a police officer who rides the Honda motorcycle in "Ghost in the Shell". The movie depicts a future where humans have merged with technology. They have integrated with computers extensively to the point that they can upload their consciousness into the digital world as well as into new, man-made bodies.
The original manga and animated versions inspired the Wachowski brothers to create and develop the massively popular Matrix trilogy, the Motor Authority reports. Given the origin and nature of the film, viewers can expect to see a feet-forward, scooter-motorcycle being driven around in the impressive futuristic cityscape.
Honda's NM4 futuristic version in the movie might remind manga and anime enthusiasts of Shotaro Kaneda's iconic red motorcycle in Akira. However, ScarJo's bike might not be as intense, but interested clients can go buy a NM4, the Auto Blog reports. The movie will hit theaters on March 31, but you catch a glimpse of that cool ride in person as it will be displayed in Japan at the Osaka and Tokyo motorcycle shows this month.
