There's no stopping Rockstar Games from developing and releasing the sequel to the highly celebrated Red Dead Redemption title. Although the studio has been doing a marvelous job in keeping things under wraps, this did not stop the community from building the hype, or at least, they are doing things to commemorate the greatness of the original game. Well, this is exactly what a mod did in GTA 5.
According to GameSpot, the mod was created by a group of fans who can't just let go of the greatness that is Red Dead Redemption. It's led by a developer named Mr. Leisurewear. These guys are modding the said game -- its full map basically -- into the PC version of GTA 5.
A well-known modder by the name of Jestic posted on GTAForums the work of the aforementioned developer. He explained that it took them two years to complete the task, and it was one hell of a ride. As of this writing, the info is scarce. However, players can expect more of this along with various screenshots.
Right now, the team is still working on some final details for the Red Dead Redemption mod in GTA 5. This includes the likes of visual creation, texture detailing and map finalization, among others. The mod is also expected to feature a day-to-night cycle similar to the original game. Apparently, this is not the project they are really looking forward to develop.
The modders are looking to come up with massive project, which they call Red Dead Redemption V. And through this, more elements directly from the original Xbox 360 version will be acquired and used. Once done, they will incorporate it to GTA 5. However, since this is not an easy task, they'll be needing more manpower and resources.
The team is currently looking for programmers "who are able to help us reverse engineer the file formats." Moreover, they are looking for scripters who can totally remake the entire content of the original game and apply it to GTA 5. As of this writing, the search is still ongoing.
