Elon Musk is all set to introduce a new car plan in the market. In fact, the affordable Tesla Model 3 electric car is on its way. According to stats, this five-seater car will be as fast as BMW 3 Series and Mercedes C class. Also, it will also cost same as the BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
Moreover, Tesla took about 400,000 preorders for the car quickly after opening them up, and since then, Elon Musk has been ramping production plans. According to a source, reports noted that meeting Musk towering production and sales targets would mean that in the U.S., the Model 3 would outsell the Mercedes C class and BMW 3 Series combined. According to Musk, not only Tesla will be able to produce all cars on time but will be able to outsell brands like that of Benz and BMW as well. The best part of this plan is that Tesla is making sure that the speedier production gets to have speedier deliveries too. First, Elon Musk said that the company is placing orders with suppliers for "1,000 cars a week in July, 2,000 a week in August, and roughly 4,000 a week in September." Tesla then is planning to increase production to 5,000 cars a week by the end of the year, and 10,000 a week by the end of 2018.
The company is currently able to produce 2,000 Model S and Model X cars a week. According to a source, if the Tesla Model 3 rules over its market segment in the same way that the Model S does its market segment, that sums up around 170,000 sales in the US a year. Also, international sales would add to that total and could well add up, altogether, to the 500,000 target quoted by Elon Musk. This kind of production will certainly give an upper hand to Tesla in the market.
