Nokia is getting ready to offer a new Nokia Lumia smartphone and the new Lumia smartphone will reportedly have a very high-end 41-megapixel camera and more according to a new leak.
The Nokia Lumia "EOS" has been highly anticipated due to its reported 41-megapixel camera, something that has never been done in the smartphone world. Nokia is known for its cameras that it uses on its smartphones, so it makes sense Nokia would differentiate itself from the upcoming iPhone 5S, Samsung Galaxy S4, and the HTC One.
WMPowerPowerUser is reporting that a tipster contacted the site and claimed to have spent some hands-on time with the Nokia EOS. The source claims that the EOS is made out of Nokia's signature polycarbonate and is close in thickness to the Lumia 920m but is highly tapered at the smartphone's ends, which gives the illusion of the smartphone being thinner than it actually is.
The tipster claims that the camera found on the EOS is different from previous Lumia models, as it does not protrude much from the back. The flash is Xenon, of course. The Pure View camera is expected to be a whopping 41-megapixel camera, the source said the unit he used had the megapixels listed as "XX megapixels" on the outside of the smartphone.
There is also a new camera application that will debut with the smartphone called "Nokia Pro Camera", the application has a completely new interface compared to current Nokia Lumia smartphones. This is probably to highlight the new 41-megapixel camera. The tipster said the standard Nokia Lumia camera application is present on the EOS.
The source claims that the screen size will be the same size and resolution of the Nokia Lumia 920, but will be noticeably lighter than the Lumia 920. The Nokia Lumia EOS is expected to debut some time in July or August. Take this rumor with a grain of salt, but it lines up with previous leaks pertaining to the EOS.
