iPhone 5S And 6 Rumored For 2013 Release, Before Galaxy Note 3

New rumors about Apple's upcoming smartphone offerings point to a summer and fall release for the devices. According to the latest report, the iPhone 5S could be on the market as soon as this summer, while the iPhone 6 will arrive during the fall.

Apple's current main rival on the mobile phone market share platform is Samsung. The Korean based company is expected to launch sometime this fall, a launch date is being slated for September. The latest report suggests that Samsung will announce the highly anticipated Galaxy Note 3 at IFA 2013, as it did with the Galaxy Note and Galaxy Note 2.

A summer release could mean that Apple would have a head start on the retail market against the Galaxy Note 3, which could threaten to sway Apple customers to a new device. As reported by Inquisitr, a leaked data sheet alleges that Apple will accept pre-orders for the iPhone 5S as soon as June and will launch the handset in July. Rumored iPhone 5S specs include a 13-megapixel rear camera and the much talked about iOS7 OS.

Recently leaked photos from BGR of what is allegedly the iPhone 5S' internal components suggest that perhaps production is underway. It's said that Apple is planning to do a complete overhaul of the device and may even feature a fingerprint scanner. Now that would be something to look forward to.

A summer release date conflicts with what Apple CEO Tom Cook said about the earliest release date.

"Our teams are hard at work on some amazing new hardware, software, and services that we can't wait to introduce this fall and throughout 2014," Cook said.

This could indicate that we may not see a new device from Apple until the fall.

It's also alleged that Apple may unveil the iPhone 5S at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), which takes place in June.
