Can Fans Make 'Sherlock' Season 5 Possible?

There is no confirmation of "Sherlock" Season 5 yet. However, fans have been working out a way to let the makers know how badly they want another season for the popular TV series. There is an online campaign going on to "Bring 221 Back." The hashtag is used for the campaign, while the BBC has nothing to say so far about the renewal of the show. Even lead actors like Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman are silent about it.

In fact, it was reported earlier that the relation between Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman is quite tense. Even though they play two great friends on screen, Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson, their relation off screen is "frosty." Show bosses Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat apparently wanted to continue the TV series for years. However, Cumberbatch seems to be having a great time in Hollywood with his movie career. "The Imitation Game" and, more recently, "Doctor Strange" have hugely successful. The Mirror Online believes his Hollywood career might have ended the show.

Moreover, it's the relationship between the lead pair of the show that makes "Sherlock" Season 5 difficult to happen. According to a source, the two actors are not friends and don't spend time together away from the show. While they are professional enough to be polite to each other while working for the show, there is hardly any warmth in the relation even though they have been working for six years together. "There isn't a huge desire to come back for another season," the source told The Sun.

However, the fans demand "Sherlock" Season 5 to happen. There are hashtags on Twitter, such as #221back and #bring221back. Lots of fans have been asking the makers to bring to show back. It will be interesting to see if the huge demand pushes the makers to work on the next installment of the series.
