Duggar Family News: Jinger Getting Backlash for Wearing Pants, But Why?

Even though the Duggar family is known for being conservative in its fashion and lifestyle, one of the members decided to "violate" the family dress code and wear pants. Jinger Duggar's decision to stray from her family's style has caused an outcry. However, she has found support from her husband Jeremy Vuolo. The soccer star has said that he had no problem if she wore pants.

Jinger, 23, was recently seen with her sisters in Waco, Texas. While her sisters, Jessa and Jana, wore modest skirts, Jinger wore a red blazer and a pair of green pants. It is supposed to be a problem because her parents follow a strict set of rules. Her parents, Michelle and Jim Bob, have brought up their daughters to dress up in a conservative way, following gender roles. It means girls are not supposed to wear pants, not even a pair of blue jeans, Yahoo reported. Josh's wife Anna Duggar wears a skirt over her work out pants in the gym. Jill Duggar, a volunteer firefighter, wears a skirt as her uniform.

Jinger's outfit got mixed reactions. While some were shocked to see her in such a way, some others valued her sense of independence. The newlywed member of the Duggar family was seen wearing pants and short on a number of occasions in recent past. Her husband believes it is OK to wear pants if it's modest. "It is your liberty as to whether you dress modestly with a modest pair of pants, or with a skirt, or with a T-shirt, or with a blouse," Intouch Weekly quoted him as saying. Jinger is not the only one who is criticized for dressing up in a rebellious manner. Her sister Jessa is criticized for "casual outfit, as she was seen wearing a knee-length skirt while holding her newborn son.
