On Wednesday, Samsung launched two flagship phones in India, the Samsung Galaxy S8, and Galaxy S8 Plus. Unlike the earlier Galaxy S7, which debuted at a price of around $770, the Galaxy S8 has a starting price of $895. The increased price compared to the predecessors is not going down too well with many Samsung fans in India.
Even the price is a little bit higher than expected, Samsung promised to all smartphone enthusiasts that buying their new flagships is going to be a good deal. However, according to India Today, OnePlus 3T is now the crowd favorite since it is a high-end smartphone for just $464. The flagship phone of OnePlus has a much lower price but with a good performance which is, in fact, comparable to the Galaxy S8, Galaxy S7, Pixel X, and iPhone 7 Plus.
OnePlus 3T is one of the many popular smartphones that might be available at half of the cost of the Samsung Galaxy S8. However, it still packs a punch to make it a really high-end device. It offers a 5.5-inch display with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution, runs Android 7.0 Nougat software and Snapdragon 821 chipset.
On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S8 competitor comes in 64GB and 128GB storage options and has 16-megapixel cameras on the front and back of the device. The OnePLus 3T also has 4GB RAM, USB Type-C port and 3400mAh battery with fast-charging, same as with Samsung. Samsung main highlight on its Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus is its edge-to-edge Infinity display, according to Gadgets 360.
Aside from the price, another reason why people prefer OnePlus 3T over Samsung Galaxy S8 is its battery. All are aware of the devastating accident that happened last year on Samsung's Galaxy Note 7. Even if the firm is said to offer Midnight Black and Maple Gold color options for its new flagship smartphones, on the back of all customers' head, they are still worried about what will occur to the phone in the near future.
