Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is not really brimming with new content but although it has been a staple title to the Wii U, the console itself gives players a good enough reason not to play the game. Coming April 28 however, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is coming to the Nintendo Switch and this is a perfectly good time to brush up on some Mario Kart strategies or learn new tips and tricks. Mario Kart 8 is the perfect game to play with friends and these tips will sure to keep players' competitive (and winning) streaks going.
Fire Hopping 'Frogging' Alternative
Fire Hopping or "Frogging" has always been in the race arsenal of Mario Kart 8 players, but in the new Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, this technique has been removed. The new pink and purple sparks when drifting give players a more significant speed boost anyway so achieving it is the way to go. Drifting long enough will make the wheels emit orange sparks - for even longer than that will reveal the pinkish purple-ish hue and this is the speed boost players need. Although this may be harder to control for beginners, mastering it is definitely worth it.
Get Them MK8 Coins
Skipping even a single coin may be detrimental to some players' game as that tiny speed boost could be the difference between winning and losing shamefully. The coins also serve two more functions, they can contribute to the kart's overall top speed and they can unlock new items after the race in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The coins can help with players to go very fast if they drive for a while without interruption.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Battle Mode
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe brings back Battle Mode and the fans' favorite Balloon Battle and this is where things can get ugly. The main objective is basically survival of the fittest; try to outlast everyone by having more balloons than the rest. However, in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, trying to get the most points at the end of the match is as important as surviving. To win in this mode, the best way is to be as aggressive as possible.
