The latest chapter of “Fairy Tail” has just been released and it reveals some development in the last arc of the manga. However, despite how things are going, it seems like the story is not progressing at all, which has frustrated many avid readers.

Natsu Lives And Acnologia Kills Jellal

“Fairy Tail” Chapter 535 is out and it reveals that Lucy has indeed rewritten Natsu’s book, the E.N.D., which healed Natsu’s life-threatening injury. However, as pointed out in the previous chapters, the editing of the said book is eating away Lucy’s life as it possesses her with Natsu’s fire. Gray steps in with his ice power to keep Lucy from burning and they try to a find a way on how to completely rewrite the parts to save Natsu.

Meanwhile, Zeref realizes that someone has edited the E.N.D. after he sees Natsu miraculously healed from the injury. During this time, the two blabber on about how they are each making a world with their respective versions of happiness, taking also this time to prepare another round of powerful attacks on each other. While Natsu lives, Pegasus and the others are still struggling with Acnologia as it squeezes the life out of Jellal, making it look like it actually killed him.

New Chapter Does Nothing To Make The Story Move Forward?

“Fairy Tail” Chapter 535 has just been released but it seems like fans are not happy with the new chapter. Despite the development in the Alvarez Empire Arc, the story is developing at a gradual pace. Avid readers of the said manga have pointed out that the latest chapter simply repeated patterns from previous chapters and revealed no development in the main characters.

Aside from Lucy and Gray’s struggle to save Natsu by rewriting the E.N.D., Acnologia’s character has done nothing so far since he suddenly appeared to attack Wendy but say over and over again that he can devour magic. Aside from that, Natsu and Zeref are at each other’s necks once again even after the latter gained the unparalleled magic of the Fairy Heart.

Fans are speculating that since this is the final arc, manga creator Hiro Mashima has lost the passion for keeping “Fairy Tail” interesting. Mashima has revealed beforehand that he’s doing his best to make the last chapters of the manga while working on the last movie. However, he also said he is planning on making a new manga as soon as “Fairy Tail” ends.
