Star Wars Battlefront 2 Announces Free DLC AT E3 2017, Albeit With A Catch

Star Wars Battlefront 2 joins with other major titles by giving away free DLC at the ongoing E3 2017. The items included in the contents are free maps and game modes. Apparently, EA claims that it is giving these free treats to gamers so that they can play together.

EA's press conference for Star Wars Battlefront 2 at the E3 2017 took at least 30 minutes. It was mostly about the game's multiplayer features. EA also showed a 15-minute video of its developer-guided run-through of one mission. The clip was full of laser blasts, stealth takedowns, and dogfights.

EA Wants To Prevent An Unhappy Experience

Bracing from their experience in the previous Star Wars Battlefront video game where gamers eventually broke off from the game's virtual family, EA seems to have thought of giving away free DLCs to prevent the same thing from happening in Star Wars Battlefront 2. The company's aim is echoed by Niklas Fegraeus. He admitted that their main goal is "to keep the community together."

But Players Can Enter Into Microtransactions

With the free DLC, naturally, Star Wars Battlefront 2 won't have any DLC pass. Would that mean that would be enough for gamers to enhance their gaming experience? Apparently, EA plans to get an income stream beyond the initial sales of the game. According to Fegraeus, they intend to conduct microtransactions for gamers who want to level up faster.

Fegraeus explained that when players of Star Wars Battlefront 2 want to speed up their progress and get other stuff, they need to earn in-game currency. And if they do, they can spend those in buying what they want in the video game.

This New Video Game Will Have A Campaign

Unlike the previous version, the new Star Wars Battlefront 2 will have a campaign mission. Additionally, SWB 2 will also focus on Iden Versio, an Imperial commando leader of a unit called Inferno Squadron, as one of the trailers has shown. That means she is a minion of the evil emperor and Sith Lord Palpatine.
