Netflix Renews '3 Body Problem' For Another Season

The creators will be returning to their roles as executive producers and writers for another season, based on their announcement. The news remains unclear whether the series will be ending after two seasons or there will be more renewals in the future.

"We're thrilled that we get to tell this story through to its epic conclusion. Ever since we read the last page of Cixin Liu's magnificent trilogy, we hoped we'd be able to bring the audience to the end of the universe with us. Here we go!" the trio shared.

Previously, Benioff stated that the whole trilogy would take three to four seasons to be completely told in the adaptation. Netflix has yet to confirm the entire scope of the renewal but the series has already received the green light for new episodes.

'3 Body Problem' Season 2 Expectations

Unlike the book, the series took a different timeline. In season 1, a group of scientists discovered the existence of extraterrestrial beings called SanTi. The first few episodes of the series also revealed how Ye Wenjie's persistence summoned the SanTi.

The first season left the audience with more questions. Jin Cheng failed to launch Will's brain using the Staircase Project, Saul was forced to be a Wallfacer, while Auggie published her nanofiber research to the public.

Season 2 could be a pivotal moment for Tatiana as she finally gets invited by the SanTi to access the virtual reality headset. Scientists and experts must also take precautionary measures to prevent the SanTi from infiltrating Earth and disrupting the technological advancement of humans.
