YouTube Immediately Ends Viewing for Adblocker Users

YouTube introduced a new strategy to warn users against adblocker usage by skipping the video to the end immediately after opening content.

The online video-sharing platform has been enforcing its rule against the use of adblockers over the past months by blocking them from watching content.

YouTube Strictly Fights Against Adblockers

YouTube has been warning adblockers users to uninstall their service since last year. The company emphasized that using adblockers violates YouTube's Terms of Service.

The platform started displaying a notice to users with a message instructing them to disable their adblocking. Users who ignore the prompt are banned from playing videos unless they follow the instructions.

Recently, some users reported that YouTube videos are suddenly skipping to the end of the video. The phenomenon has so far only affected adblocker users, hinting at the company's additional warning for violators.

Several users have also tried to disable their adblocker to test their theory and prove them right. While it could be possible that YouTube is behind this move, some users suggest that it could also be a problem with the adblocker itself.

YouTube Pushes Premium Service to Users

YouTube has been encouraging adblocker users to either allow ads on their platform or try YouTube Premium for an ad-free viewing experience. The company also explained that ads support content creators globally.

Several users have started to uninstall their adblocker apps after experiencing YouTube's tactics. Meanwhile, some users are experimenting with different workarounds to continue enjoying YouTube ad-free with no service charge.

YouTube Premium currently costs $13.99 per month or $139.99 for the annual plan in the U.S. There is also a discounted student plan that starts at only $7.99 and must be renewed annually. A family plan, that can hold up to five members, is priced at $22.99 per month.
