Brand to Watch: Home Improvement Retailer, VEVOR
VEVOR

VEVOR is a home improvement brand and retailer with over US$ 2.7 billion in annual revenue that is well positioned for even more rapid growth in the coming years.

The home improvement industry in the US alone is estimated to exceed $1 trillion, more than doubling in size since 2008, and is expected to continue rapid growth in the coming decades. Currently sitting atop this industry are legacy retailers such as Home Depot and Lowe's, but there is significant rumbling from younger competitors, especially VEVOR. Where these retail giants gain nearly half of their revenue from the 5% of the market constituting professional jobs, VEVOR focuses on the needs of everyday home repair consumers.

The company was designed to specifically provide these everyday home repair consumers with more affordable and reliable products. These casual home improvement weekend warriors actually make up the vast majority of the home improvement market.

What stands VEVOR apart is its razor focus on this market segment, providing them with a vast selection of products and fast delivery between 2 to 5 days, plus a 30-day return policy and 12-month warranty. Its business model allows it to achieve these prices and speed by working directly with factories and delivering directly to consumers, while its more flattened management structure allows for more efficient internal communications and decision-making. VEVOR is also developing a distribution warehouse network across the US to increase efficiency and cut delivery times further.

The company has put a focus on removing intermediaries and inefficiencies that often weigh down bigger companies. VEVOR instead has teams focused wholly on market and product trends that help the company design, produce, and deliver products at breakneck speed. Another team carefully monitors feedback from customers around the world to make adaptive improvements to the products they sell.

Though founded in 2007, VEVOR first sold through third-party sites online before launching its own website marketplace in 2020 in the US. Despite a market with many established brands, including Harbor Freight, Menard's, DK Hardware, Home Depot, Lowe's, and more, VEVOR has already reached annual sales approaching $ 3 billion, and in addition to the US, also sells its products in 200 countries around the world as of July 2024.

VEVOR still has much space to grow with improved brand awareness, but the company is set up nicely for strong growth in the years to come.
