Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collections: Arcade Classics

Marvel Games and Capcom's latest collaboration has led to the new Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collections: Arcade Classics that lets fans and gamers enjoy a retro fighting experience on modern gaming platforms.

This collection features six of the iconic games in the franchise but also adds in the first side-scrolling beat 'em up title, The Punisher, which now features online co-op in this remastered version.

The Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Franchise

There has been a long history between Marvel Comics and the Japanese gaming giant Capcom as many games that are a result of their partnership have been published through the years. This this initially began with fighting games, and its first title focused on tag-team fighting and incorporating Capcom's franchises.

This is none other than 1996's X-Men vs. Street Fighter, which paved the  way for the iconic Marvel vs. Capcom

The last Marvel vs. Capcom game was released in 2017, and it's called Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite. No new arcade-style fighting games featuring Marvel Comics were released by Capcom after this, but it followed up its Street Fighter franchise with Street Fighter 6, which was released in 2023.

After almost seven years since the last game, Capcom wants to jump back into the mayhem that is Marvel vs. Capcom in the future should everyone in the company be on board.

With that, Capcom's Matsumoto is now rallying for public support in both purchases and making their voices heard by the company for a future installment of Marvel vs. Capcom to become a reality.
