According to Comic Book, a remake for the horror game "Until Dawn" which debuted on PlayStation 4 in 2015 is finally in the works.
For those curious to know more about the announcement, it was AccountNGT on Twitter made the announcement of the possible Until Dawn remake.
ComicBook explained that AccountNGT has historically provided a number of exclusive scoops on forthcoming games. Despite the lack of specifics, a subsequent post from the game leaker revealed that Supermassive is planning to return to the game in a new capacity in the near future.
In the said Twitter post, the game leaker stated that several reports, Supermassive Projects has been working on a remake of "Until Dawn" for some time.
As of writing, the post contains more than 500 likes and 70 retweets.
Some of the said "Until Dawn" fans stated that the game does not need a remake since the game looks stunning already, adding that the company must create original games instead.
ComicBook furthered that with The Dark Pictures series, the game developer Supermassive Games has continued to build horror games in the manner of "Until Dawn" in recent years. While production on The Dark Pictures will continue for some time, it appears like Supermassive may be considering bringing "Until Dawn" back.
What If Gaming explained that "Until Dawn" was a PS4 exclusive game from 2015 that had some of the greatest visuals of the time, a lot of entertaining gameplay components and mechanics for a game of its genre. While the plot didn't win any awards, it was still deemed an entertaining title by many.
Since it was a PS4 exclusive before, numerous players are curious to know if the "Until Dawn" remake will be available on other consoles.
Which Consoles Might It Be Available For?
The game leaker also emphasized that there is a possibility that this remake will be available for current-gen consoles.
Dual Shockers added that because the game's creators, Supermassive Games, aren't controlled by Sony, many people believe the game will also be released on Xbox and PC.
Despite the fact that Supermassive is not a Sony first-party studio, Sony owns the Until Dawn IP. That is, Sony will dictate the game's conditions, making an Xbox release seem improbable.
Moreover, when it comes to a PC distribution, we may see one, but the leaker makes no mention of it. However, it would make sense for them to release it on PC, given that few people would be eager to start it up again so quickly.
Since the game developer did not release an official statement yet, it is worth noting that these will still remain a speculation until futher notice. Aside from this, keep in mind that the mentioned information is subject to change.
