Recently, Google's Chairman Eric Schmidt was spotted using the Moto X and now a Verizon version of the handset has made its way online.
The leaked image of the Verizon Moto X shows just the front of the handset but reveals that the purported Moto X runs on an updated version of Google's Android operating system.
"Hot out of the inbox is this picture of the Verizon Moto X in all its LTE glory," boasts Android Central in a new report. "While we don't get a look at the back or any of the expected customization areas of interest, this picture does give us a nice idea of the overall size of the phone, as well as a hint that it might be running a newer version of Android. We also note that the person handling the phone hasn't picked up on the Graves Method, or the Schmidt variant."
If the leaked image of the Moto X proves to be legit, the handset will have large bezels at the top and bottom of the screen and the overall form factor appears to be very similar to the Nexus 4.
The Android Central report also points out that the background behind the soft-keys is semi-transparent, which could be a Motorola software customization. However, with rumors of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean claiming the new software will arrive very soon, the handset may come packed with the latest operating system.
The Moto X is supposed to be a top-end smartphone with customizable hardware. Many rumors also suggest that the Moto X will be a line-up of smartphones rather than a single handset.
Some rumors also indicate that a 1.7GHz dual-core processor will power the handset. The upcoming smartphone is expected to include 16GB or 32GB of internal storage and 2GB of RAM. The Moto X is further expected to have a 10-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.
Rumors of the upcoming Moto X have been very frequent in the recent weeks and a recently leaked roadmap of Verizon suggests that the handset will hit the carrier's network as soon as next month, on Aug. 23.
