Apple AR/VR Headset Leak

Multiple reports and rumors have been saying that the iPhone maker has been working on an augmented and virtual reality or AR/VR headset for a long time now.

However, Apple has yet to confirm if it will release such a new AR/VR device. Thus, the release date or at least the launch date of the mixed reality headset remains to be seen. But this did not stop analysts from speculating the day that the rumored AR/VR headset is heading to the consumers.

This time around, an analyst of Haitong International Securities, Jeff Pu, disclosed that Apple's upcoming mixed reality headset is not seeing the light of day this 2022.

It contrasts with earlier predictions of the reputable Apple analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, who stated that the mixed reality headset is debuting sometime in late 2022. But Kuo added that it would only be available with a limited number of supplies for this year.

Apart from Kuo's pronouncements, a journalist from Bloomberg, Mark Gurman, is also saying that the upcoming AR/VR device could likely launch in late 2022.

However, Gurman said that it could possibly debut sometime in 2023 as well, echoing the recent claims of Pu.

The analyst also predicted that the Cupertino-based tech giant could ship roughly 1.5 million units in merely the first year since its debut.

The latest prediction claims that Apple is pushing back the release of its rumored mixed reality headset until the early months of next year.

However, once it starts shipping, it is expected to sell not less than a million units for its first year.

On top of that, the new device from Apple is reportedly supporting both augmented reality and virtual reality tech.

To make it possible, the analyst Pu claims that it rocks several sensors, which could go as high as ten. In turn, sensor and camera manufacturers, such as Semi, Sunny Optical, and Sony, should dramatically benefit from the upcoming device, the analyst went on to add.
