The Silent Hill game allegedly in development by Konami behind the scenes could be a PlayStation 5 (PS5) exclusive.
Author Jeff Grubb suggests that the upcoming Silent Hill game could be a PS5 exclusive, as evidenced by his reply to a tweet from another Twitter user.
The Silent Hill franchise has been in a state of dormancy since the cancellation of Kojima's Silent Hills, but recent leaks from @AestheticGamer1 indicate that the franchise might be brought back to life soon.
Silent Hill PS5 exclusive?
According to Grubb's Tweets, there is a "really strong chance" of the Silent Hill game reportedly being developed by Konami under closed doors being a PS5 exclusive.
This particular tweet was in reply to a Twitter user who indirectly asked Grubb about the game being released only for Sony's PS5 once it is ready for launch.
Additionally, the rumor that the Silent Hill game Konami is allegedly developing is a PS5 exclusive has been one of the most consistent about the game since the leaks started, per Game Rant's article.
According to a report from iGamesNews, leaker KatharsisT mentioned in 2020 that the Silent Hill game could be a PS5 exclusive "because [Konami would] get most of the income, it is a first-party, and they keep the exclusive."
Other Silent Hill Rumors
There have been other rumors appearing about Silent Hill in the past few years that may or may not be true. An example of one false Silent Hill rumor is about Kojima returning to make a Silent Hill game.
This rumor was later denied by Konami, stating them as inaccurate, per a separate Game Rant article.
However, some have a strong chance of being true, such as @AestheticGamer1's leaks about the Silent Hill game Konami is developing, which may have confirmed the rumors that the company is indeed working on a Silent Hill game.
According to @AestheticGamer1's tweet, the upcoming Silent Hill game involves two girls named Anita and Maya, who could either be the Next Silent Hill game's main protagonists or someone with great relevance to the story.
The game could also involve players receiving SMS messages from the characters of the game, even when you're not actively playing after you sign a waiver.
@AestheticGamer1 included a few concept arts of the game and what could be an in-game picture of the screen players will see when reading one of the game's notes. Although Konami later took these photos down with a DMCA takedown, Konami has indirectly confirmed the game's existence in doing so.
Additionally, rumors in the gaming community mentioned that Konami is developing numerous Silent Hill games, with Polish studio Bloober Team rumored to be developing a new Silent Hill game in collaboration with Konami and Sony Interactive Entertainment, per Comicbook Gaming.
Bloober Team is known for games such as The Medium, Blair Witch (inspired by the cinematic lore of the "Blair Witch" movie), and the Layers of Fear series, per the studio's official website.
This specific rumor seems probable and credible as Bloober Team entered a deal with Konami in 2021, further fanning the flames of hope in every Silent Hill fan, per Polygon.
@AestheticGamer1 also mentioned that Konami is also developing other Silent Hill games aside from the one leaked by them, a rumor which was also spotted by Game Rant in 2021.
