As the Johnny Depp vs Amber Heard defamation trial inches closer to its end, it is no surprise that countless people on the internet have taken a keen interest to it. It is no surprise either that countless people have been sharing their thoughts and opinions on social media regardless of whose side they are on.

Depp's team has already started cross-examining heard and, needless to say, people have a lot to say about it. In fact, Depp's lawyer, Camille Vasquez, is the talk of the town on Twitter as she is the one doing the cross-examination and even trended on the social media app.

Johnny Depp vs Amber Heard Defamation Case

Before we get to the tweets, let us first do a quick summary of what is going on with the case so far. To provide context, it should be noted that Johnny Depp and Amber Heard married in 2015 and she filed for divorce in 2016. The divorce was finalized in 2017.

This defamation trial is taking place due to the fact that Depp has sued his ex-wife over a 2018 op-ed piece she wrote for The Washington Post in which she revealed that she had been a victim of domestic abuse. Depp was not succinctly named in the op-ed piece, but the actor has claimed that what Heard wrote has extensively damaged his career.

Per a report by Deadline, Depp has sued Heard for $50 million. She filed a $100 million countersuit in 2020.

Johnny Depp has already had his chance on the witness stand and now, it is Amber Heard's turn. According to a report by Variety, the actress has already completed her direct testimony and is now being cross-examined by Depp's legal team.

Doing the cross-examination of Heard is Depp's lawyer, Camille Vasquez. Unsurprisingly, the lawyer began trending on social media app Twitter due to her cross-examination of Heard. "Camille," "Camille Vasquez," and the hashtag #CamilleVasquez have been frequently searched on the social media platform.

"So Amber Heard is being investigated for committing perjury in Australia and now Camille has just got her to admit she committed perjury in the UK," a tweet by a user with the handle @Dobert_Bobbs reads.

Another tweet, this time by user @MasanbuC, says, "I think I may have just witnessed THE public execution of Amber Heard by Miss Camille Vasquez."
