LG Makes a Special 65-inch OLED Evo C2 TV in the Spirit of the 'Star Wars' Celebration

LG and LucasFilm have collaborated to release a limited-edition Star Wars-themed 65-inch OLED evo C2 TV, just in time for the 45th anniversary of the release of "Star Wars: A New Hope."

The television and remote control are also branded with "Star Wars" logos.

According to LG, the Galactic Empire's emblem is inscribed on the back of the OLED evo, and when you switch it on, the TV will play the sound of Darth Vader breathing!

The remote, meanwhile, has a "Star Wars" logo and a lightsaber-like design with red accent lighting.

Features of the 'Star Wars' OLED TV

Here are some of the features of the Star Wars-themed TV:

  • "Star Wars" inspired user interface
  • Exclusive gallery of "Star Wars" content
  • Star Wars-branded version of LG's Magic Remote
  • Numbered certificate of authenticity
  • And more

One of the most exciting features of this most awaited TV is its remote.

The user interface for the Magic Remote control is designed to appear and sound like the iconic lightsaber from the "Star Wars" film.

LG's Gallery Mode converts TVs into canvases, showcasing paintings, sketches, and other works of art in two categories: The Creation and The Cinematic Vision.

The Creation category's art includes original storyboards and graphic pieces that show how "Star Wars" came to be.

Movie posters and important movie moments are featured in the Cinematic Vision section.

According to Tech Radar, the Gallery Mode includes two galleries of original "Star Wars" storyboard graphics, photographs, and art in this limited edition model.

The first collection, dubbed The Conceptual Designs, includes storyboards from A New Hope's trench run and Return of the Jedi's final combat. The Journey of Darth Vader, the second collection, contains all art focusing on key Vader scenes throughout the series, such as his duel with Luke in Empire Strikes Back.

'Star Wars' OLED TV Release Date

LG said the price and availability date of the display would be announced later, but you may sign up for an email notification to be notified when it becomes available. When that happens, you'll want to act quickly because LG will only sell 501 units in the U.S.

501 TVs may seem like an odd number, but it refers to the 501st Legion, the Storm Trooper battalion commanded by Darth Vader in the movies.

General Specs of a Normal OLED evo C2 TV

Tech Radar reported that the non-Star Wars variant has a 4K Ultra HD display with Dolby Vision and HDR10 for high-resolution visuals. The display also houses LG's Alpha 9 Gen 5 processor, which the firm claims can improve color quality, nighttime scene shadows, and building visual fidelity.

In addition, the OLED evo C2 boasts gaming-specific capabilities such as NVIDIA G-Sync compatibility and support for GEFORCE NOW.

The base model of OLED evo costs $2,299. Although we do not yet know the price of the "Star Wars" edition, it is reasonable to expect a similar price.
