HTC One Max phablet images and details leak: 5.9-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 800 & more

HTC recently announced a new member to its HTC One family with the HTC mini. The company is planning to go in the opposite direction with HTC One Max and images of the phablet have leaked.

HTC is taking Samsung's approach in using its flagship smartphone's name and design to build a family of handsets that appeal to different audiences. When the company introduced the HTC One mini, it created a smartphone that offered consumers a smaller replica of the HTC One with most of its best qualities intact. The smartphone caters to users who like the look and feel of the HTC One, but find its 4.7-inch display just too big. The HTC One mini brings the aluminum unibody case, HTC BoomSound front facing dual-stereo speakers and UltraPixel camera features to a smaller 4.3-inch version of the smartphone.

HTC has already made a smaller alternative to the HTC One, so it's only natural that the company is going literally big with its next smartphone. The HTC One Max will be the company's first phablet and it has the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 in its sights. Images of the HTC One Max have leaked for the first time, and as you can see from the picture above, it looks exactly like its smaller counterpart, but is packing a much larger screen. The source posted images of the phablet along with some of its specs.

The HTC One Max will reportedly feature a 5.9-inch full HD 1080p display. HTC will use the latest 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB of RAM to keep the phablet running smoothly. The device is expected to come in a choice of 32GB or 64GB of internal storage configurations and will also be packing HTC's UltraPixel camera. The phablet is also expected to have a non-removable 3,200 mAh battery.

Recent rumors have claimed that HTC is planning to launch its One Max phablet on the same day as Samsung's Galaxy Note 3 is expected to make a debut. Samsung has just sent out invites for an event on September 4 where it is expected to officially announce the Note 3. If the rumors are true, we should be hearing something from HTC pretty soon.
