EA and Criterion are working doggedly for the new Need for Speed installment, which will be released in July after it was delayed last year.
Need for Speed which is expected to incorporate 'anime aspects', will give off a photorealism feeling.
New Need for Speed with 'Anime Aspects' Will Offer Most Original Multiplayer Experience
According to a recent leak, the next Need for Speed game may provide the series' most original multiplayer experience yet. The Need for Speed series is one of the oldest racing game brands, and despite the series' recent setbacks, it seems like EA and Criterion are working very hard to make the upcoming installment the best it can be.
Despite being scheduled for release in 2021, EA postponed it by a year so that Criterion could work on support for Battlefield 2042. The new racing game's creator is now in the midst of it, and it seems like they're attempting to mix things up quite a bit.
In an interview conducted by Polygon in 2021 with Laura Miele, chief studios officer at EA, Miele noted that while Battlefield 6 was coming along pretty well, the decision was taken to have Criterion assist with the project because of the development limitations brought on by the pandemic.
The game is said to be called Need for Speed: Unbound and will supposedly be unveiled sometime in July, according to a new report from Tom Henderson via eXputer. As previously mentioned, the next Need for Speed is anticipated to have 'anime aspects,' mainly in the form of a fantasy style. As per Henderson's assessment, this is true since automobiles emit smoke, wind, and flames while driving quickly, drifting, and more.
The animated TV series, The Boondocks, is used as a comparison for the character models in the study. The most crucial aspect, however, implies that participants may organize 'meetups,' which enable participants to get together, drive about the city, and start races whenever they want.
The Need for Speed series has struggled to maintain its popularity with the debut of games like Forza Horizon. Still, EA obviously recognizes the worth of the racing property since new installments are frequently released every few years. Many people are interested to see where Need for Speed developer Criterion will take it once the game is anticipated later this year.
Upcoming Need for Speed Will be Favorably Sensational, Includes Unique Courses
The upcoming Need for Speed will be a highly stylized, photorealistic game set in a made-up version of Chicago, according to the journalist Jeff Grubb on his GiantBomb podcast Grubsnaxx. Despite the fact that it is obviously not a genuine city, Grubb remarked that Criterion wants to make it seem like one. Additionally, the game will have a feeling of photorealism while adding 'anime characteristics' to give it flair.
Grubb also added that it would contain photorealistic aspects as well as anime additions.
It has been said that one of the game's odd courses has players racing around a train that travels across one of the tracks. It's unclear whether this will really alter how players navigate the track-forcing them to stop and wait for it to pass or run the danger of being hit by it, for instance-but it does seem like it may.
In 2010, there was a racing game known as Split/Second, which featured dangerous race tracks with planes, explosions, and other dangerous terrains to create an intense racing experience. It's possible that Need for Speed: Unbound will tap into that idea a bit more, but it's not totally clear now.
