‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ Trailer Has Been Released — When is the Show Hitting Amazon Prime Video?

Sauron is coming back in "The Lord of the Rings" universe.

"The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" got the attention that Amazon wanted it to gain when the new trailer of the show was released at San Diego Comic-Con.

The three-minute clip teases Sauron's appearance and sheds more light on the story of Middle-earth's Second Age, as per Engadget.

'The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power' Will be Hitting Prime Video in September

As the title suggests, the show will be about the forging of the Rings of Power which is important to J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings" universe, as per Polygon.

Expect that the show will also highlight the rise and fall of the island nation of Númenor. The trailer also showed a sneak peek of a younger Elrond, the harfoots (ancestors to hobbits), and Arondir.

It's only months away from Amazon Prime Videos "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" release date. The show will be released on the streaming platform on Sept. 2.

"The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" is set before "The Lord of the Rings" events. This is during when Sauron had power over Middle-earth.

The show is focused on the Second Age, a time when the Dark Lord is just starting to amass power. Amazon had kept the show under wraps, and Friday's showing of the trailer has been the fans closest look into the upcoming prequel.

The highlight of the trailer began with Galadriel, however, it pans swiftly to all the places in Middle-earth.

It shows the dwarves in Moria before it fell. A glimpse of the elves recovering from a long war that just ended was also shown.

Moreover, the clip shows humans starting a new and powerful civilization, and hobbits keeping themselves hidden underneath it all.

Who are Cast in 'The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power'?

Playing a younger Galadriel is Morfydd Clark. He is set to hunt down collaborators of the recently defeated first great Dark Lord, Morgoth.

Prince Durin IV, scion of the underground kingdom of Khazad-dûm, will be played by Owain Arthur, whereas Disa, the dwarven princess, will be played by Sophia Nomvete.

Ismael Cruz Córdova was cast as Arondir, a newly invented elven character. He is in a forbidden relationship with human village healer Bronwyn, to be played by Nazanin Boniadi.

'The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power' will also feature a young Elrond, to be played by Robert Aramayo. He is a rising to prominence architect and politician.

Maxim Baldry will play Isildur. You will see him in a time before he cuts the "one ring to rule them all" off Sauron's hand.

Charles Edwards will play the elven smith, Celebrimbor, who was tricked into teaching Sauron how to make rings, while Gil-Galad will play Benjamin Walker, the High King of the Elves.
