If you are looking to buy a new Windows Phone 8 (WP8) smartphone in India the Nokia Lumia 925 is now available for Rs. 34,999 (approximately $517).
In the U.S., Nokia launched the handset exclusively on T-Mobile. The smartphone started making its way to several regions soon after its launch and now the Lumia 925 has also arrived in India.
Nokia launched the Lumia 925 and the Lumia 928 back-to-back in the month of May this year. The company also launched the top-end Lumia 1020 soon after. However, it seems that not all handsets will be available in India. The Nokia (India) website is showing the Lumia 1020 with a "coming soon" label, the Lumia 925 is now available directly from Nokia and it seems that the Lumia 928 may not make it to the country in the near term.
Before the arrival of the Lumia 925, the Lumia 920 was the only top-end Nokia WP8 smartphone available in India. The Finnish company has not confirmed when the Lumia 1020 will be available in the country but the increasing popularity of the handset along with the growing demand of camera smartphones indicates that Nokia may launch the Lumia 1020 sooner than later.
The Lumia 925 is a minor upgrade to the Lumia 920. Both handsets have the same display size and screen resolution, both run on the same processor and feature the same 8.7-megapixel rear-facing camera. However, the Lumia 920 has a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, a slight bump compared to the 1.2-megapixel camera found on the Lumia 920.
At 5.08 x 2.78 x 0.33 inches, the Lumia 925 is a bit smaller than the Lumia 920, which measures 5.13 x 2.79 x 0.42 inches, and at 4.90 ounces, the Lumia 925 is also lighter than the Lumia 920 which weighs 6.53 ounces.
The Lumia 925 may not attract many customers who already have the Lumia 920; however, the handset may entice customers who are looking to switch from Android or iOS and want to buy a top-end WP8-powered handset.
Nokia handsets are very popular in India so we will have to wait and see if the Lumia 925 is able to appeal to many smartphone buyers in the country.
