TwitchCon Now Requires, Proof of Vaccination Once Again

Twitch had planned to have a meeting in October without masks, but it has altered its position in light of feedback from attendees and partners.

Twitch Revised Its TwitchCon Protocols

In the middle of monkeypox and the ongoing COVID-19 danger, Twitch was all prepared to throw a massive mask-free conference in San Diego in October. In response to concerns from attendees and some of its streaming partners, the firm has now modified its policy.

According to the updated TwitchCon health measures FAQ, attendees must now be at least five years old, wear a tight mask that completely covers their nose and mouth, and either show proof of receiving at least two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine or a record of a negative COVID-19 test no more than 72 hours prior to the event. If you are unable to handle it, refunds are available from the business until August 19.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), on August 11, loosened its COVID-19 quarantine and six-foot separation requirements and no longer advised individuals to rigorously isolate themselves if they have just been exposed to COVID-19.

The recommendation to use a good mask for at least ten days following exposure and to be tested after five days is still in place. If a person tests positive for COVID-19, they should be quarantined for at least five days, wear a mask for at least ten days, and avoid contact with other people for at least 11 days.

Like the epidemic itself, masking is still present.

Twitch Will Drop the VOD Requirement for Select Broadcasters Next Month

Beginning the next month, Twitch will amend its rules and lower the Video on Demand (VOD) requirement for select broadcasters. Although the streaming behemoth's statistics indicate little effect, certain content producers may greatly benefit from the new adjustment.

The new threshold, which will take effect on September 1, will reduce the VOD requirement from 14 to 7 days, a reduction of 50%. VOD is a Twitch feature that automatically archives videos from past live streams for those who are unaware.

By maintaining a modest backlog of material, viewers can catch up on previous broadcasts and may discover what the streamer has to offer. This option may be activated in the stream settings section of the creator dashboard.

Sixty days of VOD storage are now available to users with Partner, Prime, or Turbo memberships. Additionally, the Affiliate Program participants enjoy 14 days of storage. Further, streamers and subscribers who do not fall within the above measures get 14 days of storage.

As you may expect, the new modification does not cover all accounts. The Partner, Prime, Turbo, and Affiliate accounts will continue to have VOD storage status; thus, most things won't change. Those who don't fall under the categories above will see a decrease, moving from 14 days to 7 days.

Twitch said it changed because most VOD views happened in the first week. Even though it shouldn't affect many people, it could cause problems for a few. Those who want to use Twitch for longer will have to pay more. For $8.99 a month, Turbo can add an extra 30 days to the VOD archive. On September 1, this change will take place.
