Apple M2 MacBook Pro models, in larger 14-inch and 16-inch variants, are reportedly seeing their release sometime in early 2023, an analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggests in his latest predictions.
The analyst of all sorts of Apple stuff also leaked when the renowned tech giant would start the mass production of these MacBook Pro models with M2 chips.
Apple M2 MacBook Pro 14-inch, 16-inch
As per the latest report by The Verge, the analyst predicts that Apple is already gearing up to release the all-new 16-inch and 14-inch MacBook Pro models.
However, the news outlet reports that these next-gen Macs might start shipping to its customers during the early months of next year or in 2023.
In fact, Kuo further states that the next-gen professional MacBook Pros with the all-new M2 chip are entering their mass production sometime in the fourth quarter of 2022.
However, according to a recent report by CNET, Kuo failed to specify which fourth quarter of 2022 was he referring to.
The tech news website notes that the mass production timeline that the analyst shared might refer to what fiscal fourth quarter of Apple, which apparently ends by next month or in September.
This could mean that the Cupertino tech giant is already a few weeks away from starting the mass production of its next-gen MacBook Pros.
But CNET also raises another possibility. Kuo could also be pertaining to the fiscal fourth quarter of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), the maker of the Apple M2 chips, which ends later this year or in December, to be more exact.
Or the analyst could simply be pertaining to the fourth quarter of this year.
Next-Gen M2 MacBook Pro with 3nm Chips?
In addition to the larger MacBook Pros, the 3nm MacBook is likely to take some time before it sees the light of day, contrary to earlier reports.
As such, the M2 MacBook Pro models in much larger sizes would reportedly skip the 3nm process once it debuts.
Kuo says in his recent tweet that the upcoming 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models are likely to still go with the 5nm advanced node for its M2 chip.
Given that, it dispels previous rumors and predictions, saying that the next-gen larger MacBooks would introduce the all-new 3nm M2 processors.
Apple October Event
The latest leaks are seemingly a mess as of writing with contradicting claims sprouting like mushrooms these days. But The Verge hopes in its report that the upcoming October event of the iPhone maker might clear some of the uncertainties.
The fall event of Apple is expected to unleash the all-new iPhone 14, the first-ever M2 iPad Pro, and new Mac offerings.
