Disney+ Releases New Trailer for Live-Action 'Pinocchio'

A trailer has just been released for the live-action adaptation of "Pinocchio" that will be part of this year's Disney+ Day, which is astonishingly accurate to the original.

What Should We Expect From Live-Action Remake of "Pinocchio" for Disney+ Day?

Despite not being Walt Disney's first animated film, "Pinocchio" is iconic. After 82 years, the 1940 animation classic is still in good shape, and its theme song has become the Disney corporation's unofficial anthem.

The company is releasing a high-profile live-action "Pinocchio" remake for this year's Disney+ Day. The new trailer's CGI wooden puppet eerily resembles its traditionally animated predecessor. It's a timeless tale that incorporates the well-known themes from the animated film "The Adventures of Pinocchio" by Carlo Collodi.

In the clip, Tom Hanks' Geppetto, who plays "Pinocchio's" adoptive father, is seen for the first time. "Pinocchio" seems to care for Geppetto, yet he always gets into mischief. For this reason, the Blue Fairy had Jiminy Cricket serve as "Pinocchio's" conscience. But when the character is tempted, a cricket can only do so much.

The Pleasure Island horrors, which were unsettling even in the animated film, are not fully shown in the trailer. However, we can see that Geppetto and Pinocchio grow apart due to their struggles. And the only way Pinocchio can find his father again is by delving far inside the enormous whale Monstro's guts.

Joe Gordon-Levitt plays Jiminy Cricket, The Blue Fairy by Cynthia Erivo, "Honest" John Worthington Foulfellow by Keegan-Michael Key, and Sofia the Seagull by Lorraine Bracco.

Luke Evans acts as the Coachman, Kyanne Lamaya portrays Fabiana (together with her marionette Sabina), Giuseppe Battiston plays Se'or Stromboli, and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth will provide the voice of Pinocchio.

The remake's screenplay was co-written by Chris Weitz and Robert Zemeckis, who also directed it. It will release on September 8 on Disney+ Day.

A New Live Action of 'King Kong' by James Wan and Stefany Folsom is Developing in Disney +

Atomic Monster, the production company of James Wan, and novelist Stefany Folsom are working on creating a new live-action series featuring "King Kong," the well-known ape for Disney+.

In addition, the sequel to "Godzilla vs. Kong," directed by Adam Wingard, will be distributed by Warner Bros. in the year 2024. At the same time, the animated series "Monsterverse Kong: Skull Island" will be produced by Legendary Entertainment for Netflix.

King Kong, a 90-year-old character with a complex web of rights, has been the focus of several films. Most recently, he was depicted in Legendary/Warner Bros.'s Monsterverse, which only uses the Kong part of the gorilla monster's name for its titles such as 2017's "Kong: Skull Island," 2019's "Godzilla: King of the Monsters," and 2021's "Godzilla vs. Kong," followed by a Netflix anime.

Returning to Skull Island, "King Kong" introduces a new Kong. The series is based on the original books by Merian C. Cooper and the most recent "King Kong" novelizations by Joe DeVito.

Gizmodo said that "King Kong's" rights seem to be supported because the company responsible for the character's creation owns all of his photographs. Anybody may adopt Kong as long as their choice is based on the public domain novelization.

Five years ago, MarVista Entertainment and IM Global Television produced a live-action series based on Cooper's "King Kong" and DeVito ArtWorks' "Skull Island." Festa was the executive producer for this project. Sadly, it never was achieved in the first place.
