BTS, Disney+ Collaboration to Bring 'Five Major Content Titles' to the Streaming Service

BTS is coming to Disney+.

BTS's Army fans all over the world can now enjoy high quality and exclusive content from the band wherever they are through Disney's streaming platform.

HYBE, previously known as Big Hit Entertainment, is the management company that the South Korean boy band is currently under.

Disney has announced that their streaming service platform and HYBE's entertainment companies have reached an agreed collaboration.

With this collaboration, Disney+ will soon feature additional five new and exclusive titles from the boy band that is coming to the streaming platform next year.

The band reportedly expressed their excitement about the prospect of giving the audience a more intimate and personal look at who they are.

BTS Content on Disney+

The BTS titles coming to the platform are five, however, three of them are now already confirmed to be included.

One of which is titled, BTS: Permission to Dance on Stage - LA. This one is an exclusive cinematic coverage of BTS' live performance at the Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles last year, in November 2021.

This content is shot in 4K and features the band's emotions as they reunite with their fans in an in person concert after two years of being in lockdown due to the pandemic.

The second one that will be coming to Disney+ is the BTS Monuments: Beyond the Star.

BTS Monuments: Beyond the Star is stated to be an original documentary series that tells the story of how the boy band journeyed to becoming one of the most iconic artists in the 21st century.

The Hollywood Reporter says, "With unprecedented access to a vast library of music and footage over the past nine years, the series will feature the daily lives, thoughts and plans of BTS members, as they prepare for their second chapter."

The third one is titled, In the Soup: Friendcation. This content is another Disney original. It will be a show that revolves around the adventures of BTS while traveling.

It includes V of BTS, Park Seo-jun from Itaewon Class, Choi Woo-shik from Parasite, Park Hyung-sik, and Peakboy.

In this film, the five friends go on an unexpected trip together, where they take part in a variety of exciting and enjoyable pursuits along the way.

The show will be made accessible solely through the Disney+ streaming services in 2023.

Disney's Expansion in Asia

The Verge reports that since its November 2021 South Korean launch, Disney+ has been steadily expanding its portfolio of Korean content.

This includes titles like Snowdrop, which features Jisoo, an actress and a member of a popular girl group Black Pink. Snowdrop was a success and became among its most viewed content in Asia-Pacific markets.

The business hopes to expand its subscriber base throughout Asia, South America, and the world by taking advantage of its widespread popularity.

A recent announcement made by the streaming service indicated that it would make available more than 20 Korean titles, including at least 12 originals films.

The firm has indicated that by the year 2023, it wants to have given the green light to produce over 50 APAC Originals.

According to Disney's APAC head of content, Jessica Kam-Engle, "We are thrilled to be collaborating with Hybe to showcase their original content created with powerful artist IP on our global streaming services including Disney+."
