The One IU update from Samsung gave its earlier foldable phones and smartwatches new capabilities like taskbars for phones and watch faces for smartwatches.
Samsung is Providing Its Previous Foldable Phones and Smartwatches with New Features
Starting on Sunday, September 4, Samsung began giving its older foldable phones and smartwatches new features, all thanks to its One IU's latest version.
According to The Verge, older Samsung products may receive significant enhancements, such as the addition of a taskbar comparable to those found on desktop computers for its phones and more personalization choices for its wearables.
The South Korean firm sent the newest user interface, One UI 4.1.1, based on Android 12L for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 smartphones internationally on Sunday. But, it debuted first on Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4.
When an app is open, Android 12L improves Z Fold 4 with a steady taskbar that makes it simple to access other apps similar to those available on a desktop, the Phone Arena reported.
Both the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 include a cover screen that may be utilized for setting adjustments, voice-to-text messaging, and call interactions. Users may also snap front-facing selfies with its Rear Cam Selfie function.
Soon, the Galaxy Watch 4 will receive Wear OS 3.5 and One UI Watch 4.5, bringing additional features and improvements. The new "favorites" function for the smartwatches makes organizing faces easier, and users may change the colors and patterns of their watch faces to make them stand out.
With the new interface, users can now adjust the display's color and contrast to make it easier to see, decrease transparency, turn off blur effects, and eliminate movements altogether to avoid ambiguity. Additionally, the audio channels on a Bluetooth device may be altered, and accessibility options include slowing down the screen's responsiveness to taps and avoiding repeated touches.
These factors all clearly imply that Samsung has streamlined the functionality of its smartwatches.
