Netflix Releases Official Trailer for 'Blockbuster' Starring Randall Park

Netflix has something in store for fans of comedy, particularly comedy series! The streaming platform has released the first official trailer for its upcoming workplace comedy series "Blockbuster."

The series stars Randall Park, who you have probably seen on "WandaVision" and "Fresh Off the Boat." Other members of the cast include Melissa Fumero from "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" and Tyler Alvarez from "American Vandal."

Netflix Releases 'Blockbuster' Trailer

Netflix's upcoming "Blockbuster" series focuses on "the once preeminent video rental store still trying to cling to life," according to a report by GameSpot. Series lead Randall Park plays the role of Timmy Yoon, who happens to be the manager of the last Blockbuster Video store standing.

GameSpot notes in its report that this is not the first time that Netflix has used the the rise and fall of Blockbuster as the storyline. In 2020, a documentary was released by the streaming giant also focuses on the same story.

'Blockbuster' Cast, Release Date

Aside from Park, Melissa Fumero also stars in "Blockbuster" as Eliza. Her character is the longtime crush of Timmy, according to Netflix. Other members of the cast include Tyler Alvarez, Olga Merediz, Madeleine Arthur, Kamaia Fairburn, and J.B. Smoove. The characters of these cast members make up the team of employees working under Timmy.

The 10-episode season is created by Vanessa Ramos. Ramos previously wrote for "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" and co-produced "Superstore." The writers for the series are David Caspe and Jackie Clarke.

"Blockbuster" can be streamed on Netflix beginning on November 3.

New on Netflix for October 2022

While waiting for "Blockbuster" to be available, there are a lot of new series and movies to watch on Netflix this month. Leading the pack is "Guillermo Del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities," which is releasing on October 25 in time for Halloween.

"Unsolved Mysteries: Volume 3" and the sixth season of "Somebody Feed Phil" are also among the releases expected to happen this month.

As for those that are already available on Netflix, the third season of "Bling Empire" came out on October 5. Documentary "The Trapped 13: How We Survived The Thai Cave," which features some members of the Thai youth soccer team that was trapped in a cave a few years back, also premiered on the same day as "Bling Empire."

If you are a fan of the live action "Scooby-Doo" movies, the 2002 "Scooby-Doo" film as well as its sequel, "Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed," are also available on Netflix.

Other releases expected this month are "The School for Good and Evil," "28 Days Haunted," and the third season of "Love is Blind."
