For all the Swifties out there who plan on buying tickets for Taylor Swift's tour, you might have to wait a little while longer. Ticketmaster, which distributes the tickets, crashed on Tuesday, as mentioned in The Verge.
The demand for the presale tickets seems to have overwhelmed the system, but Ticketmaster's fan support account tweeted that they are working to resolve the issues. Many have replied to the same tweet, saying that the presale code was identified as incorrect.
Taylor Swift Breaks the System Again
According to a follow-up tweet by the Ticketmaster fan support account, millions showed up to buy tickets for the TaylorSwiftTix presale. They called it a historically unprecedented demand. Fans have been deprived of live performances by Taylor Swift, seeing as the pandemic got in the way of her Lover Fest tour. Swifties have waited years for something like The Eras Tour to come along, and it appears that they have to wait just a little longer.
It was also said in the tweet that hundreds of thousands of tickets have been sold, which means that it's only a fraction of the mentioned millions that intend to purchase tickets. They asked the people in the queue to hang tight, as they are trying to provide the fans with their tickets as quickly as they can.
Although their last dose of Taylor Swift goes as far back as four years in the Reputation Stadium Tour, so it's understandable that they can't wait to get a hold of tickets.
Schedules have been pushed back for areas like Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Santa Clara, and Seattle. The original time was 10 a.m. PT, which has been moved to 3 p.m. PT. They added that queues will open 30 minutes prior. The Capital One onsale has also been rescheduled, which will happen on November 17th, at 2 p.m. local venue time.
It's not just the fans that are holding torches and pitchforks for Ticketmaster. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has joined the mob. Ocasio-Cortex expressed that Ticketmaster is a monopoly and that its merger with LiveNation should have never taken place. She added that they need to be "reigned in," and break them up.
What to Expect for The Eras Tour
For starters, Taylor Swift already has a great roster lined up for the opening scene of her concert. You'll be hearing from artists and bands like Paramore, beabadoobee, Phoebe Bridgers, girl in red, Muna, Haim, Gayle, Gracie Abrams, and OWENN. The tour will begin in Glendale, Arizona, on March 17th of next year.
Since the tour is named "Eras," fans can expect to feel nostalgic as Swift sings her songs from her whole music career. She even teased the possibility of this, as mentioned in Boston. It's a mystery how she'll manage to fit in all the songs from her past. Considering that she released four albums since the Reputation tour, she'll have a lot of live song performances to catch up to.
