Despite the popularity of the game, many still haven't gotten the chance to play the game. Maybe they haven't gotten the time or perhaps they're waiting for the game to go on sale. If you haven't played, here are some things you might want to know before you dive into Hogwarts Legacy.
1. Use Revelio Often
This is something that doesn't need to be said, especially once you start playing. You'll be compelled to use Revelio every time you walk into a room. It's important to use the spell since it reveals hidden objects or interactions within the game. Certain chests and pouches will be highlighted which you will otherwise miss if you head in a different direction.
2. Always Check Your Rewards
Within the game, you'll be rewarded points for every achievement you accomplish. Not house points, but ones that will eventually add up to unlock certain perks or items. The thing is, they won't automatically be added to your inventory. You will have to claim the reward yourself, so always check if you have unclaimed ones.
3. You Can Customize Your Look
One of the downsides of some RPG games, especially those in third-person perspectives, is that you can't customize the way you look. Of course, you'll want to wear gear that gives you more protection or health points.
That's not the case for Hogwarts Legacy. You can customize how your gear would look regardless of what you're wearing. But, you can only customize it with items you've already found, so keep hunting for gear so you have more options for appearance.
4. There's No Quidditch
If you're looking forward to playing Quidditch in the game, you'll be disappointed since it's not part of it. You'll see the Quidditch field and you can fly around on your broom, but you won't be able to play a match. The developers might add a DLC for it, but it's not very likely, so if it's a dealbreaker for you, now you know.
5. Spend Your Talent Points
There's a lot to see on the menu so you might be overwhelmed in the beginning. In case you miss it, you actually gain talent points every time you level up after level 5. You can use these points to upgrade certain spells or skills under Spells, Dark Arts, Core, Stealth, and Room of Requirement. Careful though, since you can't take it back once you've spent it.
6. Collect As Much Field Pages as You Can
Collecting Field Pages will significantly help you with gaining XP points. You can find them all over the place. If you find a statue that looks like it could be significant, cast Revelio to see if it will reveal a field page.
This also goes for places of importance like classrooms, historical places, and more, which is yet another reason why you have to cast Revelio often. You can also collect them through the pages flying around like birds. All you have to do is aim and cast Accio.
7. Don't Destroy Your Gear
Once you start collecting gear and you're already out of inventory space, don't destroy them. You can actually sell your gear in the stores in Hogsmeade in exchange for coins, which you will need to make purchases later on. Be sure to regularly sell unused items so you'll always have space for new ones.
