WhatsApp is currently working on the launch of its new Official Chat feature for tips and tricks. Additionally, important security settings will also be added that will help users protect their accounts.
The app has been testing the new feature through the Google Play Beta program. However, WaBetaInfo reported that WhatsApp's new feature is now released to more users for them to try.
How Does WhatsApp Official Chat Works?
WhatsApp seemingly revised the interface of the chat to make it seem "more intuitive" for first-time users. Moreover, archiving and blocking the official chat is still possible, should the user wants to hide the feature.
The first message that the users will receive is about two-step verification, which is an important step to protect their accounts.
"With the two-step verification, you can add an extra layer of security to your account by choosing a PIN that will be asked after the 6-digit registration code. Learn more about how to enable two-step verification for your WhatsApp account by visiting the official article about this feature," WaBetaInfo wrote on its website.
Other tips on the recent security settings of WhatsApp is expected to rollout soon as well. Meanwhile, WaBetaInfo also informed that it is not possible to manually open this chat or force the message to be received.
New Update on Identifying Unknown Phone Numbers in WhatsApp
Aside from the Official Chat, WhatsApp is also rolling out a way to open chats with unknown phone numbers.
"To discover if the feature is available to your WhatsApp account, you need to search for a phone number by opening your contact lists. Specifically, if you use WhatsApp for iOS, tap the button "start new chat" in the chat list and enter the unknown phone number within the search bar," WaBetaInfo shared.
This feature aims to provide additional privacy measure as profile photos will not be saved automatically, unlike before.
The new update will be available both for iOS and Android after installing the latest update on the store.
