7 Gadgets You Should Take With You on a Flight

Much like other modes of transportation, there's not much to do but sit and wait until you reach your destination during a flight. In order to pass the time without getting bored, you'll need a few devices on your person, especially if it's a long trip. Here are some suggestions.

1. Headphones/Earphones

It's as good a time as any to listen to your favorite music to pass the time or catch up on the albums you haven't heard yet. Preferably, you should purchase noise-cancelling ones to drown out the noise from the other passengers. The feature will prove useful when a baby or a toddler starts crying in the middle of the flight.

2. Handheld Console

If you think that music will not be enough, perhaps a couple of games will entertain you for the duration of your flight. The beauty of handheld consoles is that most of them can fit right in your pocket.

Just make sure that they are fully charged before you go so you can play longer. You can even lend it to a child to occupy them so they won't bug anyone else.

3. eReader

If you're more of a reader than a gamer, you'll probably prefer bringing an eReader with you. It's more convenient than a book since it's not as bulky, and you'll be able to save several titles all in one device. You can check which titles to download before your flight and even finish them in one sitting.

4. Heating Pad

There are tons of heating pads on the market, most of which have specific applications. What you need is something that you can use as a blanket or wear on your shoulders and neck. Airplanes can get a little chilly.

If you're not used to cold temperatures, it's better to be prepared. You can always ask for a blanket, but it doesn't beat a cozy heating pad.

5. Power Bank

If you are in for a long flight, make sure that you have a way to recharge your devices on the plane. Devices like handheld consoles tend to have a short battery span especially when you play heavy games. Your phone, on the other hand, can last for hours.

However, it would be unwise to use up all its battery on the plane ride given how important phones are.

6. AirTag/Tracker

It would be wise to place a tracker on your luggage, especially since there's a certain amount of time that it will be handled by the airport. Not that the staff are careless, but bags being lost is not unheard of.

AirTags don't really have a specific range. It depends on whether there are iPhones in its Bluetooth range. But, it could still prove to be useful.

7. Airplane Phone/Tablet Mount

In a single flight, you can watch two to three movies depending on the duration. You can't exactly hold your device the entire time you're watching. You can, but you'll get tired eventually. You can purchase a phone or tablet mount, specifically one that can in installed at the back of the seat in front of you.
