Netflix’s ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Teaser is Out and It Looks Great

Fans of the animated "Avatar" franchise are still a little mad about the live-action movie produced by M. Night Shyamalan, but it looks like we'll be getting a good do-over with Netflix's upcoming TV show. A trailer has finally been released, and you will not be disappointed.

'Avatar: The Last Airbender' Teaser

The official teaser starts off with a view of Sozin's Comet, which granted the Fire Nation magnified powers and allowed them to wipe out all Airbenders. Then, of course, the scene where Katara and Sokka found the iceberg that preserved Aang for 100 years.

The release is packed with little details that tell us what to expect from the show. Omashu, for instance, in all its glory including the delivery system that Aang and Bumi rode as children. But really, fans will be stoked to see that the actors playing important roles are finally in their form.

Uncle Iroh, a fan favorite, already made an appearance as Zuko walks through a line of soldiers at his command. Played by Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, many say that he is perfect for the role. Then there's Fire Lord Ozai.

Already popular in other shows like "The Good Doctor," Daniel Dae Kim will play the role of the first season's main antagonist. As if that wasn't already exciting enough, the teaser shows more aspects of the show that frankly, looks as accurate as it can be.

Suki along with the other Kyoshi warriors also makes a short appearance, also wearing a similar outfit that you will see on the animated show. Saving the best for last, fans finally get to see what the furry animal companions, Appa and Momo, look like.

By the end of the video, the release date of the show is revealed, which will be on February 22, 2024. We're only a few months away from the live-action series, and we may finally see an adaptation that does the original series justice.

Meet the Main Cast

Aang, the remaining Airbender, will be played by Gordon Cormier. This will serve as the 12-year-old Filipino-Canadian actor's first major role. Based on his interviews, his goofy and charming personality makes him the perfect actor to play Aang.

Katara will be played by Kiawentiio Tarbell. You may already recognize her from her role as Ka'kwet from "Anne with an E." Kiawentiio comes from an indigenous family, which is as fitting as it can be since the character will be given a native representation.

Sokka, the only non-bender in the Gaang, will be played by Ian Ousley, who is reportedly of native Cherokee ancestry as well. Although some are debating whether he is perfect for the role, many are defending that he deserves the role for the character.

Zuko, who will eventually become Aang's mentor for Firebending, is played by Dallas Liu. He has already played roles in the movie "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings," and was Jin Kazama in the "Tekken" movie from 2009. He also has a background in martial arts, which would contribute to his bending movements.
